FAQ
Short answers about booking, skill level, and what to bring to Rue Aldringen.
Do I need experience?
Not for Foundations of Square Knot or Cotton Plant Hanger. Geometric Wall Panel and Spiral & Josephine Study expect comfortable square knot work. If unsure, start with Foundations.
Are workshops for adults only?
Yes. Sessions are designed for adult makers. We do not offer children’s classes or mixed-age craft parties.
What should I bring?
Comfortable clothes and, if you like, reading glasses for close knot work. Materials and tools are provided for listed workshops. For Open Cord Evening, bring your project bag.
How do I book?
Email [email protected], call +352 26 20 45 18 during Thu–Sat hours, or use the short form on the contact page. We confirm seats by email.
Can I buy cord without taking a class?
Small hanks are sold during opening hours when stock allows. Workshops have priority on popular thicknesses. See Materials for ranges.
Is the atelier accessible?
Ground-floor entry with no step at the door. Please tell us about any seating needs when you book so we can arrange the bench layout.
Which language is used?
Class instruction is in English. We can clarify individual steps quietly in French or German if helpful, but the group brief stays English.
Still unsure?
Write a short note describing your experience with textiles and the piece you hope to make. We will suggest a format and a realistic date. Prices stay as listed on the pricing page unless a commission requires special fibre.
