Foundations of Square Knot
Three hours on Thursday afternoons. You learn how to mount cord evenly, count square knots in rows, and keep tension without fighting the cotton. The sample you finish is a narrow wall strip suitable for a hallway or shelf nook. No prior craft background is required. We provide scissors and measuring tools; please wear layers you can move in — the room is kept temperate.
Cotton Plant Hanger
Friday sessions focus on a four-arm hanger with a wooden or metal ring. You practice gathering knots, even spacing, and a secure bottom basket for a small pot. Cord weight is chosen so the hanger suits indoor plants rather than heavy outdoor planters. Bring your own pot only if it is light ceramic; we can advise on diameter at the start of class.
Geometric Wall Panel
Saturday half-days build a wider panel on a sanded dowel. Patterns alternate between dense and open sections so the piece has rhythm when hung. Fringe is trimmed as a final step after the panel is steamed lightly to settle. This format suits adults who have completed Foundations or who already work comfortably with square knot.
Spiral & Josephine Study
An advanced Saturday block for makers who want cleaner columns and decorative Josephine knots. Demonstrations are short; most of the time is independent practice with circulating corrections. You leave with reference samples rather than a full large hanging — useful before booking a Commission Clinic.
Commission Clinic
Booked individually or in pairs. We measure your intended wall space, sketch knot density, estimate cord meterage, and begin the first rows together. Follow-up hours can be scheduled during Open Cord Evening. Finished commissions are priced separately from the clinic fee; see Pricing for ranges.
